India stocks, rupee, swaps, call at close

STOCKS:

The benchmark BSE Sensex SENSEX rose 17.39 points, or 0.02%, to 73,895.54, while the broader NSE index NIFTY lost 33.15 points, or 0.15%, to 22,442.7, in a choppy session on Monday, with shares largely in the red, weighed down by a slide in state-run banks as proposed rules will likely hurt their profits.

RUPEE:

The Indian rupee USDINR weakened 0.08% versus the U.S. dollar, and quoted at 83.4875 as dollar demand from local oil companies and other importers pressured the local currency even as most of its Asian peers gained.

GOVERNMENT BONDS:

The benchmark 10-year bond (IN071833G=CC) was quoted at 100.48 rupees, with the yield down 4 bps at 7.1068%, tracking U.S. peers.

OVERNIGHT INDEX SWAPS:

The one-year overnight index swap rate (INRAMONMI1Y=) was down 5 bps at 6.76%, while the benchmark five-year swap rate (INRSMONMI5Y=) fell 1 bp to 6.45%.

CALL MONEY/REPOS:

India's overnight call money (INROND=) rate was down 10 bps at 6.05%. The overnight TREPS rate (INTREPTOT=TCCL) was at 6.75%, compared with the previous day's weighted average of 6.2105%.
