Copper miners gain as red metal hits two-year high on BHP bid for Anglo

** Shares of copper miners rise, as prices of the red metal soar to two-year highs

** Benchmark copper HG1! on the London Metal Exchange (LME) rises 2% to $10,162 a metric ton, driven by supply concerns highlighted by BHP Group's BHP bid for Anglo American AAL

** U.S.-listed shares of mining giants Rio Tinto RIO and BHP Group BHP up 0.6% and 0.2%, respectively

** Southern Copper SCCO and Freeport-McMoRan FCX climb 2.8% and 2.7%, respectively

** Shares of Canadian miners Hudbay Mineral HBM, Teck Resources TECK and Ero Copper ERO gain between 1% and 2.2%
