On these last cold winter days, we would like to remind everyone that keeping your account safe is extremely important – it’s the same as locking your door for the night. You wouldn’t leave it open and let a stranger in, would you? The same goes for your TradingView account.
Pour yourself a nice cup of tea and take a look at a few simple but essential steps to take.
If you follow them, we can assure you that no one will ever break into your charts, change your settings or, heaven forbid, delete any of your precious saved data.
- Use unique passwords for all sites and applications. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket: even if one of your accounts on another platform gets hacked, your TradingView account will remain secure.
- Use strong passwords. Although ilovetradingview1$1 sounds great, it’s not good enough to protect your account. Let your imagination flow: use dots, underscores, numbers, and random words. The more extravagant – the better. But don’t forget to memorize your password in the end!
- Use 2-factor authentication. It’s Batman in terms of protection. With it, in the event of your password being stolen, a hacker wouldn’t be able to get in. Also, save your backup codes – just in case.
- Use our official applications. Friendly reminder: Our mobile app is available on Google Play for Android and App Store for iOS. Our desktop application is available on our site.
- Check for breaches. Checking a mailbox once in a while, as exhausting as it is, can be a good thing: We always let you know if someone else is in. If you see an intruder, terminate all active sessions, change your password, and enable 2FA.
- Do not share your credentials. As simple as that. Your TradingView credentials are for you alone.
