Today on Myth Buster Series - TTM Waves

Apple Inc.NASDAQ

Description

John Carters TTM Wave, What is it? Nothing but a Bunch of MACD Histograms.

I have seen on many paid video lessons, he recommends not to use MACD, because it is a derivative of two lagging indicator. Doesn't mean it is lagging. Ironically, his Wave indicators are exactly the MACD histogram.

How did I guess the numbers, Recently, I was bored and i was watching a video from one his old video lessons, I purchased among many others. His moving averages are Fibonacci numbers and he likes them. That just makes a great filter. Then by the looks of it and the wave reaction to price + some number of iterations, you can guess the numbers.

Here we have WAVE A / WAVE B. WAVE C figured the first part - Second part of the wave (something different going on there, will not take long to burst that myth).

Again if you think its not working please post...

To start, here is my setup: MACD/TTM Squeeze on same window, TTM Wave A and C on same window. I don't use B at all, just confuses things.
- MACD is a trend and TTM is a momentum indicator.
I use these combinations to identify potential trend and the strength of the trend. This being the case, TTM is in no way the MACD histogram in the sense you are referring as it would be a trend indicator. Simple observation makes it self evident. Now it does utilize the MACD historical data as part of its formula, but it also uses trade data.
This is where I found discrepancies myself. If I use TTM waves on platforms such as tradingviews, it is not nearly as accurate; however, if I use on a platform such as ThinkorSwim, it is way more accurate. It has something to do with the the rate of trading updates and thus the momentum of the TTM becomes way more accurate on ToS.
I use this combination for my trades simply to identify entry and exit points in a trade. This does not dictate my strategy, it simply is part of my strategy. That being said, I realize this is a much older post and do not know if you still feel the same regarding TTM, but figured I would provide my view on actual trading of my account.

Can you send me to a link that would explain your Indicator set up used for the daily time frame. I am new and find your posts to be excellent.

Google - TTM waves (Simpleroptions.com) they will have plenty of free videos on this topic. This is just a trend / momo indicator.

I was referring to what you personally have found to be of importance in trading the daily TF. If you care to share your thoughts? If not I understand.
A-shot

Haha, what can they do? The only reason he says dont use MACD is because you will be able to figure out.
A-shot
Especially pairing it near each other, and i wont give up MACD that easily
