The First iPod Was Released 13 Years Ago Today: Apple Cost $1.30

NASDAQ:AAPL   Apple Inc
For Apple fans everywhere, Thursday was a big birthday. 13 years ago, Steve Jobs revealed the first iPod. This was a major step for Apple as it increased its presence in the portable device market. It also paved the way for its giant iTunes business.

The chart above shows Apple’s stock since 2001. It pays particular attention to the date and release of the first iPod. At that time, Apple traded for about $1.30 per share (split-adjusted, of course).

Nevertheless, Apple’s stock has seen a massive appreciation in price ever since. In-fact, Apple hit a new all-time high today. It climbed as high as $105.05.
