One Query on Cardano's Fundamentals

Cardano / US DollarBinance

Description

This analysis isn't really about ADA's price action, but on Cardano's fundamentals.

Cardano was founded back in 2017, and takes pride in adopting a process that relies heavily on academic research and engineering best practices.

However, it makes you wonder, if Cardano's management takes so much pride in research, why would they name it after Gerolamo Cardano? After all, this is the Cardano who made predictions, even the day of his death, but killed himself because he woke up healthy on the day he predicted he would die.

The choice of a company's name is one of the most important decisions a company can make.

Comment

Please ignore the waves. I randomly drew some lines as it seems TW might hide non-chart posts.

Comment

I was brought to attention to a paper that provides more information on Cardano's views on religiously-inspired self-harm:

"Cardano wrote that self-harming religious behavior was caused by an astrologically induced preponderance of black bile...From his natural philosophical or medical perspective, the question of right or wrong doctrine remains beside the point; the very fact of sacrificing one’s life, family, or basic well-being for religious doctrine is lunacy."

Definitely, from a business fundamentals perspective, it's lunacy to name one's company after a person whose own writings would condemn himself as a diseased lunatic (assuming the referenced interpretation).

Comment

Of course, I'm merely referring to one aspect of Cardano's fundamentals. And we know that fundamentals and price action are correlative in nature and not causative.

'...In so doing, he characterized religious suffering, whether for the sake of heretical doctrine or of true faith, as an illness rather than a
matter of free will..." ' Excerpt from paper titled ..."Reading Cardano with the Roman Inquisition: Astrology, Celestial Physics, and the Force of Heresy"... available online.

@arpaust, what a pleasant surprise to engage in a discussion on Early Modern (natural) philosophy on TW! I'm much more familiar with Descartes, but I do agree that the Early Modern perspective is vastly different from how we look at the world.

Nonetheless, I doubt that Cardano's implicit support of the melancholy defence reflects well on him, given "Cardano wrote that self-harming religious behavior was caused by an astrologically induced preponderance of black bile...From his natural philosophical or medical perspective, the question of right or wrong doctrine remains beside the point; the very fact of sacrificing one’s life, family, or basic well-being for religious doctrine is lunacy." @TheTradingWoodworker, I think its about perspective...He is an elderly man (75), he has survived a run in with the inquisition and promised he will not write anything more and so maybe it was time. Thank you TheTradingWoodworker for prompting my own research.
dualmass
I would agree with this count, except I know crypto corrective waves are Deep and extreme, I learned this in 2017, the wave 3 was an extended wave, Wave 4 most likely end just above 20 cents and a new/cycle ending count will start... Wave 1 , 20 cents to 2 dollars, Wave 2 likely ends at 80 cents, so Wave 3 tops around 8 dollars, Wave 4 ends back at 2 dollars...The Final wave likely ends at 20 dollars,,,, time will tell, I believe this Summer / Fall will be exciting
AlphaBravoCharlie77
@dualmass, I agree that this Summer/Fall would be interesting. For Cardano though, I'm much less interested in its price action, but in its fundamentals (altcoins hunting for the next run). In a way, the above analysis is a pedantic /childish poke at Charles Hoskinson.
YASERMARG
i think it began wave 5 and up to 6$
AlphaBravoCharlie77
@YASERMARG yeah. I really didn't spend any effort on the wave count, but drew something so that TW will not hide this post.
arpaust
you may be taking a westernised view of Cardano's choice
AlphaBravoCharlie77
@arpaust this is interesting. Can you elaborate?
