Hi, Do you know what it means in the FINANCIAL column when I look at statistics it says Number of Shares is 22k so does that number represent the number of people that own this stock? Some other stocks have a much lower number, like AMPE is 250 and others like AMAZON have a much higher number so I'm just trying to figure out what it means. I'm new here and just bought a subscription to learn how to research stocks, read charts, buy/sell stocks and connect with people who have knowledge and smart opinions. Any insight you can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

@SophieRosenberg, Good day and I hope all is going well! I assume you meant "number of shareholders"? Yes, you are correct that is the total amount of individual+institutions that own the stock as per the moment the data was recorded. AMZN has one of the largest capitalizations in the market so no surprise, it has more shareholders. Great work with reading the fundamentals/charts. It may be tedious to start with but will be worth it in the long run. When I first started trading, I read "Secrets for profiting in bull and bear market" by Stan Weinstein and it really set me on the right track. I have a digital copy and let me know if you would be interested.
Please feel free to message me at any time and I am always happy to discuss ideas and trades.
All the best

@KrunchKitty, Greetings to you also. Yes, you're right, I meant to write "Shareholders" instead of Shares. Thanks for clarifying that, the vast differences in statistics are very interesting to me. I just wonder when these financials were recorded. I think TradingView should post on here when the statistics have been updated so we could determine how accurate it is. Thanks for the encouragement and thanks for the book recommendation as well; I would be glad to see your digital copy because so much of this is foreign to me. I'm like a sponge soaking up everything I can. I look forward to discussing some ideas and trades with you :-)

@SophieRosenberg, I believe most of the financials are updated quarterly in accordance with the earnings. Tradingview does show the earnings date/time on the chart. You are absolutely right, all the numbers are lagged and hence the stock market reacts more to future expectations. I'll email the book to you too. Cheers
