What Is a Short Squeeze?
A short squeeze is an unusual condition that triggers rapidly rising prices in a stock or other tradable security. The security must have an unusual degree of short-sellers. When Contrarian investors try to anticipate a short squeeze (around Quadruple Witch: June 17) and buy heavily shorted stocks and the short-sellers coincidentally decide to exit their positions, a squeeze begins.
Both short-sellers and contrarians make risky moves. A wise investor always manages the Risk..! Never invest more than 1-2% in these stocks!
