As panic settles the Canadian Dollar is strengthening again - for how long, we shall have to wait and see. Fortunately for me, I took a calculated decision to go long on CADJPY and CADNOK, and short AUDCAD. It's looking good so far in my trend following strategy on a 1-hour time frame.
Canda has been a close friend of the USA in terms of trade. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada–United_States_relations I doubt the Trump administration wants to rub them the wrong way in the longer term. I suspect there is likely to be some softening on NAFTA.
