Interesting index to monitor - thx.
There is a rate component as well as a credit component to that index. As long as credit remains stable, if rates go down, this index will perform well..
But, if the risky assets (equities, Credit spreads) were to come under pressure, the rates component will probably not be enough to compensate for the downside (as was the case in oct08 on your chart)
