I had been thinking the same,however after some further reflection it has occurred to me that Berkshire has 122 billion cash.
That is why they are underperforming the market at this time.
If Buffett sees a good opportunity on a market decline his powder is dry.
For this reason I think shorts should only be done inside and at the top of the broad trading range that has persisted now since beginning 2018.
