*Selected* alts rallying alongside BTC during this bull cycle?

Previous crypto bull cycles have seen BTC rallying first, leaving alts in the dust until it have first reached its ATH.

Alts during those previous bull phases exists predominantly as unrealized whitepapers, and BTC clones, and low quality projects, etc. and are considered as much higher risk investments. Further, buying alts -- i.e. finding good exchanges that lists a large number of crypto tokens with reasonable liquidity -- was also a lot more difficult than it is now.

It may very well be possible -- under the backdrop of the present DeFi craze, and with mainnets of selected projects coming online and milestones being met, and with the buildup of verified collaborations/partnerships established, and fundamentals of alts now becoming a lot more stronger -- that *selected* alts may rally alongside with BTC; where we see mini-alt pumping phases everytime BTC re-accumulates during consolidates phases.

Meanwhile, many may still be anticipating alt pumping only after BTC have reached ATH first, as before; and hence may find themselves instead missing on the opportunity for higher % gains (generating alts FOMO) -- contrary to the widely held expectation based on historical market trends/behavior.

It may also very will be possible that this round, that ETH may actually become the one that carries the market and BTC along with it; though (to me) not very probable yet (will see how the ETH 2.0 release and performance goes) -- I believe that may be more plausible on the next bull run, where the potential gains from BTC have diminished further upon reaching a market cap of > 1T USD.

Just some highly speculative thoughts that I had in my mind over the last couple of months to share.

Comment:
That said, I wouldn't be too surprise though, if ETH (with its immense ecosystem viz DEFI) ends up leading the market in this round of parabolic bull-run.
