I asked Chris Inks and Scott Melker about CME gaps back during the last series. As I understand it, when there is a gap, people often open futures on it betting the price to revisit that territory. One means to settle the future is for a cash buyout. In other words, someone agreed to pay him to remove the future. Now, how that shows up on the CME chart I don’t know. Regardless, it’s gone and the net effect is bullish. And if you are a Conspiracy Theorist, you can think that someone who expects to see the market go up significantly was willing to pay to have that future removed to close that gap.

Funny thing is all the time. I use TradeIdeas and see 1Min gap fills outta nowhere.
When you understand the logic of the trend, like you do, then the gap fill for upward movement is logical especially when watching GBTC price comparatively.

That wick is a ghost fat finger wick, and I think it is a server error. Every exchange in the world doesn't show that happening. Gap is not filled.
