when bitcoin goes parabolic: 2013-2014 year-gain patterns

BITSTAMP:BTCUSD   Bitcoin
in the early going, bitcoin on bitstamp surged out of nowhere to ~$200. From there is sustained less radical gains, but consistently upward. This created more of a growth curve in 2014, adding up to a very dramatic surge. It is these dramatic surges that attract attention to the asset.

Most cryptos experience these extreme demand surges. It comes from proof in its acceptance and feasibility. Rumors which support its feasibility and high-level recommendations tend to push bitcoin up, over the year, resulting in a surge.

From these early years, the end-of-year growth phenomenon is not built on a 12-month high. Unlike our recent year, the big surges come about irregularly, and not at year-end. The point of my study is to determine under which conditions does BTC achieve highly quadratic surges; it will require a study of each major parabolic surge, forthcoming.
