While I agree the NVT was good in the past, whales and many people alike are very much so aware of it now.
Highly doubt it will be perfectly accurate like it was in backtesting.
That said I think we're on a wave 4 with a 5th to go, likely truncated. We'll see.
How people are ignoring the strength in BTC right now is beyond me
