Market manipulation - current bottom level ?

BITFINEX:BTCUSD   Bitcoin / U.S. Dollar
While minding my own business on Bitfinex on December 5th i noticed someone started buying 150BTC in 70 minute interval's ...

On December 7th i read:

The founder ... mining pool F2Pool Mao Shixing ... “shutdown price” for Antminer S9 ASIC machines mining BTC has now fallen to $3,260 ...

Bitfinex is about 100$ higher than the rest .. so i put a nice little purple line at 3360 .. anyone want to take a guess ?

Not necessarily that those 150BTC chunks are related but shure made me wonder .. someone seems desperate to keep the price up ..

Comment: So nice that one is able to search through the orderhistory. The order executing 500BTC = #321644134 date 18-12-08 22:44.42 @ 3399.9 .. thats 1.699.950 $
Dec 11
Comment: Buying orders are stacking up in the 3300-3000 region (bitfinex).
Breakevenpoint for (some) miners is around the same area.
Every time it crawls down it jumps right up. (and the lows actually seem to rise - yellow line)
This is accumulation-zone

That's clearly telling something.

...yet still people are absolutely sure it will go to 1100 or what not .. well .. not short term, maybe a quick stab down to 3000 but that's it for now. If those people would actually take a good look at previous bullruns and following bearmarkets they would notice that BTC usually doesn't fall all the way down to the previous ATH ...

Why do you think "bulls" and "bears" are fighting so much over the area we are in now ? (think about it)
Dec 13
Comment: another drop to the yellow "rising support" and uptick (without real volume)
forming the triangle ..

anytime now ..
Dec 13
Comment: VERY NICE .. 3rd time on that 3360 (3260) shutdownprice Mao Shixing mentioned.

and busy making the ?final? (for now) drop, which hopefully is what Botje calls his V-Low's

Let's see what happens once all open longs have been filled ..
Dec 13
Comment: another unusual high order #322995692 ("only" 101BTC ..but still .. whale buying)

normal (visible) orders in bitfinex are in the order of 0.0002(bots) to single digits, double are rare .. triple digit VERY rare
Dec 14
Comment: antoher buy order #323058383 103.3 BTC @ 3330

the "big boys" are definitely buying .. there are no sell orders of that magnitude ..
Dec 14
Comment: #323112599 129.4 BTC @ 3250
#323136194 145.9 BTC @ 3250
#323136267 196.7 BTC @ 3250

and a while later price suddenly jumps up 2.5 - 3 %
Dec 16
Comment: on the third try the (purple) break-even-point resistance got broken

BUT .. not a big surprise or problem for them because tomorrow difficulty will be adjusted, most probably down (16% maybe?) .. so .. lower cost's per BTC
Dec 21
Comment: approx. 500BTC Buy-wall being liquidated as we speak, the last 6 minutes he has been eating all the bots 0.00xxxBTC stuff and some bigger chunks @ 3980 ..still at it .. really cool to watch :)

and after eating about half how now stopped :( he moved the rest 296BTC asking to 3970 (order count TWO) ..and eating again ..this fellow is hungry
Dec 21
Comment: that was that 00:56 UTC - 1:05 UTC (ending in 2 red dripping candles) flatliner
Dec 21
Comment: How about that, difficulty only down 9,5% (totally forgot to check)
hashrate already increasing again
Dec 21
Comment: 3:03 - 3:49 UTC he's at it again
ending this time by liquidating 23chuncks of each exactly 5BTC
really fun to watch what those "bots" and "whales" do

Dec 24
Comment: Merry Christmas, first we pump dec. 24th then we dump dec. 25th

massive buywall
706.07 BTC @ 3,810 $ (single order)
here's the weird part
he/she/it has the same order in EUR/GBP/YEN
706.07 BTC @ 3,340.5 € (=3.811,51 $ why didn't he convert at current $/€ rate?)
706.07 BTC @ 3,000.0 £ (=3.344,52€)
706.07 BTC @ 420,280 ¥ (=3.341,24€)
Dec 24
Comment: that's on bitfinex .. so about 3700$ for every other btc/dollar exchange
Dec 24
Comment: out of nowhere 2 sellwalls popped up
200 BTC and another 200 BTC 4$ apart from each other .. the moment the price went up a bit both disappear ..

Watching "whales" play is entertaining ..
Dec 26
Comment: they get bolder by the day .. not many buy orders in the book ..and then there is this buy wall:

2,002.47 BTC @ 3,914.0 $$

just one huge spike in the middle of nothingness

the other 3812 one got hit twice already, still not fully bought up ..still 318BTC waiting to be bought..
Dec 26
Comment: little footnote for the readers that can't read between the lines ..
A lot of "technical anal-ists" only look at their funny little charts, instead of watching human behaviour, the small "retail traders" and the large "whales"

THAT is what tells you what the market is going to do .. not some lagging indicators that actually only tell you what happened in the past added up with itself then divided by points added-up.
Jan 10
Comment: First we try to trip the stop-loss ...
and now we fight over which direction we should go
Buywalls and Sellwalls fighting for quite some time now
It's a shame i can't put a screenshot from the orderbook in, totally ridiculous what is going on right now.
Jan 11
Comment: last two days, no real movement, hovering around 3700 - 3740 area.
however, the whole time 2 unusually big orders
1st 'buywall' @ 3666.3 (500BTC)
2x 'buywall' @ 3570 - that's a biggie more than 1115BTC

should be an interesting weekend ... AGAIN ...
Jan 12
Comment: "1st 'buywall' @ 3666.3 (500BTC) " quietly disappeared during the day, before price even came close ..
also other longs vanished ..
those people don't trade during weekend ?!
that 3570 monstrosity is still there .. either he pulls out before price hit .. or we are not going lower ... (nobody's selling ..nothing there for him)
Jan 13
Comment: like clockwork
artifical drop to that buywall
almost at the exact time they 'pumped' it last sunday , jan. 6th
Jan 13
Comment: quite unusual buywall popped up
ask 2120 BTC @ 2,250$ (bitfinex)
we're nowhere near that price
i know there are people ('retailers') who think BTC will massively tank on short term
but i find it hard to believe THAT buyer is one of them, my guess is, he's trying to trick people into selling now
There are several articles showing up stating that large dormant (whale)wallets have become active lately .. think about that .. you believe those whales are waking up now to sell while market is 'plummeting' ?
They now are 'afraid' BTC is gonna tank and want to sell NOW ?
Jan 13
Comment: bep ~ 3400 (3500BF)
Jan 17
Comment: the oddball 2250$ is still there (i guess he is hoping/waiting for a flashcrash)

orderbook looking quite good at the moment..some smaller layered buys and sells
more or less in equilibrium .. calm, nice
Jan 17
Comment: "he" is back
buy 1,612.88 BTC @ 3,650

others:
671.84 BTC @ 3,200
553.88 BTC @ 3000
and another big around 2800 (cant see, orderbook wont show me?)
Jan 18
Comment: the 3650 is pulling it down with layerd 10BTC lures .. spaced 3-4 $ apart
almost there ...
Jan 28
Comment: BEP 3450 BF

still the 2250$ oddball there

500BTC @ 3442
550BTC @ 3422
500BTC @ 3402
looks like layered buying .. could also be deliberate pulling down ..who knows
200 BTC @ 2885
300 BTC @ 2810
1200+ BTC @ 2800
240+ BTC @ 2500

still 'consolidating' and buyers hoping for the flashcrash+upjump (2800, 2200)
Feb 07
1,000 @ 3,413.4
533 @ 3,402.0
461 @ 3,350
520 @ 3,300.0

as no one pulls or moves (even when price hit target).. layered buying
"Consolidation" people
Feb 11
Comment: BEP 3600 BF
nothing changed on the big orders

So .. is he trying to pull the price down or is he really buying that ? (would make temp. bottom?!)

Good call on the accumulation

@imkeshav, Thank you, most people seem to forget to look where the volume comes from (is someone dumping alot ->bad, or buying alot ->good), also looking at orderbooks can tell alot (buywalls, sellwalls, trying to get the price up or down, for what purpose?).
