This is exactly the reason, why I don't work with trend lines in my technical analysis. I have been fooled way too often with them. Instead I only watch different types of indicators and oscillators (moving averages, stochastic and standard deviation of price, volume, momentum, pivot points, Fibonacci levels, you name it). They don't fool me that often as trend lines did.
