I'm new, but I've noticed we have reached the highest amount of LONGS in bitfinex. Last time we had this much was at the peak of 20k. There isn't much history for longs vs shorts, but to have healthy bullish movement, i believe increasing amount of longs will be the best sign. This many longs from 6k could easily cause another hard drop as momentum slows.
@Ewoud, yes, it seems most retail investors are believing that whales are accumulating at this point, you can see the longs continue to grow and shorts decrease as price moves closer to 9k, Unfortunately we need shorts being trapped along with bullish volume to see a healthy growth, or else there are too much resistances. We also do not have the catalyst to bring in money to crypto.
