β A βdouble threeβ combination comprise two corrective patterns separated by one corrective patternin the opposite direction, labeled β. The first corrective pattern is labeled β, the second β. β A "double three" combination comprises (in order) a and a flat, a flat and a , a flat and a flat, a and a or a flat and a . β Wave β appears as a zigzag or flat. (TWEWA) β Wave β always retraces at least 90 percent of wave β. β Combinations have a sideways look. With respect to waves β and β in a double three, only one of those waves in each type of combination appears as a . β Combinations can occur in the same wave positions as flats and triangles (except for the triangle subwave) but cannot occur in waves β and β.
β Guidelines:
β Wave β is often 123.6-138.2% the β wavelength, less often wave β retraces 161.8% or more. Don't expect wave β to be more than 261.8% of wave β. (TWEWA) β Wave β is usually a single or multiple zigzag. β When a zigzag or flat appears too small to be the entire wave with respect to the preceding wave (or, if it is to be wave β£, the preceding wave β‘), a combination is likely.
β Notes:
β An expanding triangle has yet to be observed as a component of a combination.
