At the moment I think that BTC is in a deadlock situation. Let me explain why. On one hand retail investors have mostly short positions for BTC, and on the other side, whale investors (hedge funds, institutions and so on) are not entering the market because they see too many short positions and also because BTC dominance is too low. In this way, I see these possible scenarios:
- Whale investors might get tired of the situation and make a small push to shake off the short positions.
- Retail investors get tired, close the short positions and then whale investors find motivation to enter the market.
- Nobody moves and we remain like this for several months.
If BTC dominance starts to increase (as we can see now), whale investors might be more willing to enter the market, which could shake off some short positions and then start an upwards move.

when BTC.D + BTC increase; ALTS decrease. when BTC.d increase but BTC decrease = alts dump very fast (if btc will dump, alts will crash very hard here). when BTC.d decreases but BTC increase = alt season.

Everyone seems to be looking for the breakout up or down, but I swear it looks like we'll be sideways for a bit while longer in my opinion. Great analysis . I'm still hoping it breaks to the top .
