BitTorrent, which pioneered peer-to-peer technology to share files on the Internet, has now created its own crypto-dum, which will be issued by the Singapore-based BitTorrent Foundation. The new BitTorrent Token (BTT) will run on the TRON network, developed by Tron, which acquired BitTorrent in June last year (2018). The file-sharing software company claims to have 100 million users. With BTT, users can pay someone with the file to send it to them and can pay for more bandwidth so that it can be downloaded faster. With the payment perspective, file hosts have an incentive to keep more files available on the network, making it more likely that a particular user can download something they want faster.
