This pattern feels a lot like when dash first ran up to about 140 and then fell back 65 before breaching 200.
What are your thoughts as to why many media refuse to report on dash? Are said media getting paid by other coins to trash talk/ignore dash.

Well, DASH is becoming somewhat irrelevant compared to other privacy coins like Monero (XMR), Horizen (ZEN) and ZCash (ZEC).
ZCash is getting a LOT of exposure from TONS of money they are spending on Marketing, getting onto Coinbase and Gemini and representatives working hard for exposure.
Horizen is getting a LOT of exposure from TONS of money they are spending on Marketing, getting accepted to a lot of BIG investment funds and representatives working hard for exposure at events and social media. Also, Horizen is not just a currency. It's a "platform" offering more than just a means of exchange. It's also offering privacy for your data, private messaging, etc... DASH is not doing this as far as I know. If they are, they're doing a terrible job of getting the word out.
Monero does not have to invest as much for marketing and exposure. Monero has been around a long time and simply gets most of its exposure as the first privacy coin, promise to maintain ASIC resistance and more acceptance by recently lowering fees.
DASH just isn't putting forth enough effort and money to market their product.

@ProwdClown, If Dash needs to go a different direction, dont they have the tools to stay competitive, like the masternode voting system... While i cant necessarily argue against your points individually regarding other coins, Dash is #13.
The wealth effect created by bitcoins rise will cause all coins to rise... IF bitcoin make new all time highs, which is almost 100%, most alts will moon as well.
Dash's 8.4 mil coins will find a home somewhere. Theyre good shit. I lived off Thailand with them. Not sure Horizen or the other you mentioned would have had the same moneyness as Dash. A very important in money.

I'm not as big a fan of HORIZEN the way I once was. Mainly, because they kicked me out the car and locked the door when they did not go ASIC RESISTANT. That pissed me and a lot of other people off. That's why I don't even post ideas for ZEN or ZEC anymore. They hit me pretty hard financially. I'm going with a 3rd generation crypto (CARDANO) from here on out.
Sure, DASH will still remain a viable coin for a long time to come. Will it be a top 5 coin in 2019? I don't think so. It might get close but there are other coins (ETH, BCH, BTC, LTC, STR, XRP, ADA and EOS ) that will be VERY HARD to kick out of the top 8 spots. Much less the top 5 spots. Again, this is my opinion. I can see ADA (Cardano) be in the top 5 spot by August 2020. I see it remaining in the top 10 pretty much from here on out. It's POSSIBLE Cardano could be the coin market cap leader by 2025 if everything in their roadmap comes to pass. Again, my opinion.

@ProwdClown, Dash has multiple working mobile wallets including trezor. Is listed on literally over 100 exchanges coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dash/ (think about all these onramps for fiat when the bulls/adoption happens)
Dash has support line for people to call who have questions in spanish. You can SMS Dash. You CAN submit a proposal and possibly get a lot of money if its good, because they have the largest budget of most cryptos because of the treasury.
They have the most educational youtube content, thanks to Amanda B Johnson. Very low coin count, on chain scaling....
Hmmmmm.... I think those are important details we should not forget.
Moneyness is a big one... if you cant spend it, or even secure the coins, what do you have???

We hear stuff on Television all the time about Bitcoin and occasionally on ETH but not about most other coins. If DASH has the largest treasury, they need to begin using it with commercials on YouTube.
