Honestly....I have never seen an expanding ED....it may look like that...but it's usually something else. Even Prechter/Frost said that in their book. I look for higher probability patterns that have the "Right Look". Right now, I am unsure about this ED, yours or mine. This last move up looks too impulsive and there is no discernible 3-wave structure...which is required. The upper trendline of 17500 should provide strong resistance. I am unable to post my charts here....so I will update what I think could be going on here trackthemarkets.com Look at my live (at the time) markup/trade of the EUR/$ Ending Diagonal vs. what the DOW is doing. The EUR/$ had a PERFECT (c = a etc) 5th wave (3-wave structure) prior to the crash. The DOW...it appears to go straight up. This could be a impulsive 5th to end this whole madness. Too much above the upper red trendline, that we thought was the upper level of an ED, and I will be considering a long position...maybe to 18xxx. There is one thing...the market definitely respects and sees that upper trendline. This would be a good turning point.

In this chart...the triangle has been violated. This means that we are headed WAY lower...over the years to come. Either way...we are in the c-wave down. I charted this on 10-17-2014...showing two possible outcomes. It picked one.
