#DY cup and handle? Long

Dycom Industries, Inc.NYSE

Description

Trying to find trade ideas if the market turns bullish. From a weekly view this looks decent. Keeping an eye on it.

I'm stuck looking at this in 2 ways: either a cup and handle with a well defined handle, or ...

It appears that an extended cup before a move up is how this stock likes to move. I'm looking at the weekly chart and see the same move at Nov 2015 - July 2016, Aug '16 - Feb '17, May '17 - Dec '17, some minor ones here and there, and then a big "scoop" Oct '18 - Feb '21.

Shorter time frames show the scoops to be more similar to double bottoms. To me it looks like the breakout occurred from $86 to $105, and then

Alerts will tell the tell. I think I'm going to watch this one too. Interesting chart to me.

@TheGritz, thanks for the reply! i didnt realize i had all my ma's turned on. the 30 is the only one i should i left on. i like the 30 weekly as it really shows the trend. as it looks right now the 30 is catching the price, provided the markets act right. this cup and handle is rather big, im not putting too much weight on it as i believe the smaller ones (3-8 week bases) tend to work more often than not. like you said, the chart is interesting! we are about 43% from ATH and about 16% from price 100$ which seems to be a big resistance in other stocks historically.
