Noone really knows what EOS stands for but maybe best to think of it as Ethereum On Steroids
umm yeah. This dropped a little harder than I expected but goddamn it's cheap now. This will either replace or be a close competitor to ETH in a few years which is currently at $27 billion mktcap vs $560 mil total mktcap for EOS (IF you consider the total supply of 1 billion coins, of which only 370 mil are distributed now). If it were to match the current ETH marketcap, that would place EOS in the 27$ range - but by then the crypto mktcap most likely will be several multiples higher than it is now so could be much higher.
EOS will have a decentralized exchange like Bitshares (previous Dan Larimer project), be able to handle >5000 tx/sec (BTS has 5000 txs currently - ETH has like 2-3 tx/sec) AND have the full smart contract capabilities of ETH, but with many improvements that ETH does NOT have. Another possibly very good investment along these lines is Tezos, if you got in on the ICO then good for you, but it won't be available for trading other than futures contracts on Bitmex for a while still.
