If ETH goes to Zero, what does that mean for ERC-20 tokens?

Help! My ETH has Fallen and it Can't Get Up!

Recently, ETH has been tumbling like a professional circus artist dropping from the top of the tent, straight towards the ground below.

If Ethereum's ETH tokens lose most or all of their financial value, what does that mean for ERC-20 tokens?

Can ETH survive and thrive again?

Looking at the charts, ETH seems headed for an inevitable death. However, if the long-awaited tech upgrades are delivered in the next month or two, maybe it can regain its growth trendlines.

Of course, it did not help ETH's price that Ethereum's founder Vitalik Buterin recently commented that he agreed that ETH will likely lose its value and be replaced by ERC-20. You can read that here: www.bitrates.com/new...hereum-doesnt-evolve

So what should you do if you're holding a bag full of ETH and you're staring down at the abyss with no positive exit in sight?

Maybe it's time to sell and cut your losses. This may hurt, depending on how much you have. And if you don't sell, how much more will it hurt in another week of losses? Another month? Another quarter?

Maybe it's time to buy them on the cheap. This may be a great time to buy, especially if you think it's going to go up again. Or maybe you want to wait for it to crash further to scoop up as many as possible before it rises again.

If you think it's really going to zero and you're still HODLing ... well, you could trade on the option that it's going to drop, and thus profit from when ETH falls further.

So yes, it's possible to have a positive exit of ETH if you're still holding them in your portfolio. You could very well earn more from its crash than from the rise it enjoyed in 2017 and early 2018.

Then again, if ETH does come through with its long-awaited upgrades, then it's also possible that ETH will come back strong, once it reaches such an oversold price that it seems ridiculous not to own some.

My plan is to short ETH for now, and profit from its decline. I love ETH as a concept, but I see no reason to suffer financially as a result of the failure of Ethereum's developers to deliver much-needed upgrades for far too long.
