@Enhancement321, You are indeed correct. I'm interested to see how Asia reacts to the news here in a couple hours. Allegedly one of the addresses involved in the hack was the same as from the DAO hack, could be total hearsay though.

@forkknife777, I predict a large ETC loss when Asia hears about it then, investors will be spooked. Like as you said, when it happened with the DAO last year June.
@Enhancement321, This isn't nearly as bad as the DAO, but it still underscores just how vulnerable this technology is. As a huge fan of ETH, we still have a long way to go before it is truly ready for use in wide scale high security environments. If a simple multi-sig smart contract with a vulnerability like this can go unnoticed for 6+ months, how can we guarantee the safety of smart contracts far more complex than this one? Not trying to spread FUD, I'm a big believer in ETH as I mentioned, but these are realistic, rational questions that need to be asked and answered if ETH is going to blossom into what I believe it can be.

@forkknife777, Good points. I also am a supporter of ETH, but these occurrences do not help block-chain technology overall. I do not think another hard fork will occur with ETH, but 30M US is a lot of money to lose.

@Enhancement321, definitely no hard fork. The amount of ETH stolen in the DAO hack was a sizable portion of all ETH in existence; allowing a malicious actor to control such a large stake of the entire ecosystem was a huge factor in deciding to fork. It wasn't just to get people their ETH back, it was to save Ethereum from thieves with clear malicious intent.
