2022 EOY trade reflection

Euronav NVNYSE

Description

This is my 2nd year of proactive measuring, tracking and reflecting on my trading.

2022 overall stats:
Total P&L: $4,863.66
%P/L = P&L / account size: 9.73%
Profit Factor = Gross profit / Gross loss: 142.89% (2021 profit factor: 2.17)
Win/Loss rate: 55.56%
R multiple = P&L / Amount Risked: 0.18 (2021: 35%)
R average: 35.50% (2021 30%)

My personal summary on my performance:
I'm trading too much and need to let the better setups come to me rather than chase them (started to course correct in the summer). I'm risking too much for the gain and need to reassess my opening position size and then scale in if the trade goes my way. I need to let my winners win (started to course correct in the summer). I've been exiting too quickly and because my win rate is close to 50% I really need the winners to cover the losing trades.

Most profitable trade of 2022:
NYSE:FCX 1 long call entered 8/19/2021 at $375.00 exited 1/11/2022 at $1,055.00. R multiple of 2.81. %P/L 3.52%.

Notes on trade:
Bought 14 weeks after the recent high, bottom end of bollinger bands. Price had broken 61.8, was a risky trade lower high and lower volume.

Best followed trade based on my strategy:
NYSE:CRK 1 long call entered 7/5/2022 at $205.66 exited 8/29/2022 at $688.66. R multiple of 2.35. %P/L 0.97%.

Notes on trade:
Good entry although risky had undercut 61.8 FIB, held swing test. Volume was steady and a great exit.

Most profitable sector and market:
Shipping / Oil tankers. NYSE:EURN

@ishorus, Use the ladder method aka DCA. For example this stock. You have 1k you are willing to risk. The starting price you are content with is 13 so place a limit for 10 shares at 13 then 10 shares at 12.50. 10 shares at 12. This method is the safest way to not lose since you are happy with the entry and got your backside covered. I have a 95% win rate and am a bottom feeder. "I buy stocks that are at their bottom"
