I_T - How do you use the charts to figure out when a trade is in the making,
Reply
Ichimoku_Trader SaeedRehman
1. I try to establish the trend direction
2. I try to find the next logical retracement level
3. I try to establish a reasonable target
4. I go for it

Could you do one for identifying trade setups

Ichimoku_Trader SaeedRehman
I did that

Check the previous ones. One of them was about using the KS just for that

Just a view on the H4, Price is retracing from the downtrend and testing the kijun resistance and the future cloud is also a bearish kumo. In this view, Is the H1 considered as fake breakout ?

which chart pls?

EURUSD H4

well in my view we've been trending up since the 14th of April. So already we have an established uptrend (a very weak one but established nevertheless)
So when I'm in such a situation, I start giving resistance less and less importance and just riding the trend because otherwise i would have to start thinking countertrend and that is not very useful when you are a trend trader.

But what you said is 100% accurate on the H4. THere everything is turned down except the TS and the CS is inside the cloud (a very strong case for the structure still being bullish)

Thank you

Perfect. so which time frame you mostly use to determine the trend (D1).
As you said, If the Trend of D1 is considered, It is uptrend and H4 becomes the fake kumo breakout. !!! ;) It is just the result of retracement from 1.14632 to 1.2290. Learning this system along with you is more interesting..

Well for me I never look at more than one timeframe when trading. I do when I analyze the market
So for me the EURUSD is currently trending upward. That's what I'll trade
Simple and straight forward

As for my analysis, well i did one for the weekly TF and i said it is going up after a retracement. But i do not consider it when trading

Thanks

Hi, can I ask what do you mean by "kicked out of the market"? Do you mean when you have been stopped out? Which means the last few position would be a losing trade (unless closed manually)?

Also, if I were to add a full position each time and -75%, wouldn't the position accumulate and go > 100%?

Thanks for the materials :)

Hi
1. Kicked out means taken out bu the market due to your stop being hit and no your last positions would not be losers unless you do not know how to exit that way
2. Yes your position would exceed 100%. That is the idea

Nice. Thanks!

This is good method of yours. Have to try this one. I go for full line and I get stuck and emotional. This method of yours should take the emotional away. Thank you for sharing

yes it does

When it goes parabolic without retracement in Daily chart, stick with 1\4 position? or enter Full line only on Retracements? If there is no retracement then keep only 1/4 position?

Those are the rules, sometimes i break them, usually i lose
s be careful

How many simultaneous positions at max can you have? (For example: 10 different currency pairs at 1% risk each, overall risk exposure 10%) Thanks.
Reply
depends on your equity and how invested you are
Your example of 10% is fine but if they are all short term it's hard to manage them

Assume you want to short AUDUSD, AUDCHF, AUDEUR. What would be overall risk exposure for them? Should it stay the same as if it was a one trade, just R.

too many variables to answer in such a simplistic way
