GBP/USD is in a particularly interesting phase following the correction from recent highs. The bearish pressure of recent sessions has brought the price back into a technical zone that could represent a key starting point for the next directional phase. Although the short-term structure remains bearish, the current movement can be interpreted as a correction of the previous bullish momentum rather than a definitive market reversal.
Attention is primarily focused on price behavior in the current demand zone. The progressive decline has brought the market into an area where it is likely to find a greater concentration of liquidity and buyer interest. In this context, a potential bearish extension could represent a final phase of liquidity gathering below recent lows before a possible bullish reaction.
The long hypothesis therefore does not arise from a simple search for a low, but from the possibility that the market is completing a rebalancing phase. Before truly considering the rebound confirmed, it will be important to observe a gradual absorption of selling pressure, followed by a reaction strong enough to interrupt the sequence of lower highs and lower lows. A recovery in the short-term structure would represent one of the most important signals of a return of demand.
From an institutional price action perspective, the most interesting scenario would be a liquidity grab at the bottom of the current structure followed by a rapid recovery. Such a dynamic could indicate that sell orders below the lows have been absorbed and that the market is entering a new accumulation phase. The methodology used places particular importance on liquidity, inefficiencies, order blocks, and potential manipulation prior to institutional entry.
If demand gradually gains control, the first bullish move should be viewed primarily as a confirmation phase. The price's ability to maintain the recoveries and build a new upward trend will determine whether we are witnessing a simple technical rebound or the start of a new bullish expansion. In the latter case, the areas left behind during the previous decline could become natural points of interest for the market.
The opposite scenario also remains crucial. A bearish continuation accompanied by a decisive breakout of the current range, without subsequent recovery capacity, would significantly weaken the long case. In that case, it would mean that supply remains in control and that the market likely needs to seek liquidity at lower levels.
The overall reading therefore remains favorable for seeking a long opportunity, but dependent on a confirmed buyer reaction. The key is not to anticipate the market, but rather to observe whether the current correction will end through a phase of liquidity absorption and manipulation. If this process is completed and the structure gradually returns to bullish territory, GBP/USD could have the necessary technical conditions to develop a new phase of expansion toward previous supply areas.
