i'm new to this, is this convention a past common occurence? i'm only curious what the AB=CD indicator derives from. I have similar questions about how reliable many of the indicators are, but this one in particular seems arbitrary. thanks in advance

@p4ndepravity, I use it strictly as a means to identify potential price targets. By measuring from swing low to swing high you can apply that distance to the revearsal point at the bottom of the correction to get a possible profit target. The most important thing on this chart is the bullish flag formation that broke this morning. They don't get much more textbook than this one. Hope this helps
