I have been accumulating this small german stock for a while as very long term play (5-10 years) in newspace. I believe that a new wave of innovation in space has just begun. There will be multiple new satellite constellations in low earth orbit over the next years. The most hyped network is Elon Musk's "Starlink" by SpaceX. Starlink alone will have at least 12000 satellites. There will be a so called "Internet in the sky" and beamed down to earth.

All these satellites will have to communicate with each other and to the ground.

Laser communication has several benefits over micro/radio. The air is currently crowded with waves. Interference is a big issue. This leads to strict regulations especially because radio waves doesnt stop at national boarders. With laser you got a point to point communication without losing data or risk of interference. Additionally its not possible to spy on your data.

Mynaric has a long background in developing the required laser terminals. I see Mynaric as a solid bet in NewSpace and also as a takeover candidate for the larger players.
I believe if the startup succeeds and achieve larger orders that it can become a unicorn company over the next years.

Also spacex launched another 60 satellites. The race for the first constellation is between SpaceX and OneWeb.

Finally there is more awareness in mainstream for this stock and price is back above the IPO level :)
So we can expect dips to get bought. Still this is a very slow longterm play, people buying here and expecting quick profits might get disappointed when it takes too long.

with starlink we see the beginning of laser communication adoption. this technology is disruptive to telecommunications industry. New technology is not magically disapearing, its here to stay and improve further. With mynaric there is a small company which can capture a significant market share in the laser com field which will be a new growing market in the newspace sector.
