MCD has been in an uptrend for the past three years with pretty well-defined resistance and support. I think the current sell-off is a good opportunity for long-term investors.
I disagree, Easterbrook was an excellent CEO imo and he will be very hard to replace. I'm not saying McDonalds will not perform well, but it will likely not lead the pack of its quick-service peers anymore. The sell off will subside, but the record performance may not continue. I personally think now is a perfect time to re-analyze this specific industry, with the hype around plant based products being added to menus and the mishap of the leading champion (besides Domino's, since for some reason people cannot stop eating that plastic and it continues to be a cash cow).
