Hey! what's the idea behind the "reduce risk" bb indicator you're using?
optionfarmers
@wolneyyy, oh hi, its just bollinger bands renamed. this way i scale down any positions thats working and shrink the money on the table as it works. nothing fancy, just influencing my own psychology be renaming it. (behavioral finance ish)
PropNotes
@optionfarmers, ahh gotcha!~ I was curious if it was some kind of trailing stop situation or something like that

thanks for the clarification!

@wolneyyy, i know some people that use bollingers that way yes, that too can be a use of it as it reverses. for me, i just use bollingers as an engagement tool to get me excited to get into something or pick it at it, or more importantly as a signal to shrink what i have and not be so greedy becuase often it will reverse or mean revert when outside them pesky bollingers.

Very nice! an interesting idea, thanks for sharing!
as before, my "purely technical" humble opinion: a deliciously chewed cigarette butt - as all three projected dotted trend lines, short(red), medium(green) and long(blue), are pointing down, but the current price is currently below all three. therefore, the probability is very high that it will soon rise again.
because that is the definition of a trendline -- the price oscillates around it, sometimes below, sometimes above.
(one must not forget to get out at the high point of the upper wave, otherwise it would be a losing trade)

@ReallyMe, nice, thanks for taking the time the share your chart and add some experienced comments. its nice to see its 'technically oversold" based on trend lines in addition to my view that its 'accounting oversold'.
ReallyMe
@optionfarmers, thank you for the kind words, i find your ideas really very good and inspiring, and for everything well researched there is a technical underpinning, which is reflected in the chart. i am curious if it actually rises to 0.9 in the course of the year, then I would sell though before it goes even lower next time. (i would buy more at daily RSI around 40, not just now when it has just shot up)

@ReallyMe, im curious as well :D ive tested these cigar butts only for 2 months in this rising climate, and ive ranged 7% to 25% trades in them, but because it was experimental ive been closing them too early. since 9 for 9 of the trades worked so far based on the 'accounting oversold status", im letting this one run a little longer to get more data on the strategy.
