If you look at the linked table of natural gas production, you can see that Russia and USA together produces more natural gas than the rest of the world combined. Most of these gas rigs are located in the northern parts (Arctic sea) by the looks of the map below - ie. it would be affected by the growing ice when the ice age starts. According to the table the third and forth largest producers of natural gas is Iran and Qatar (USA hates them and China has a love affair with Iran).

If you're an elite (extremely rich) I think natural gas could be the best and safest future investment. Probably invest in Iran is a good idea since they got the most natural gas if you exclude from the Russian and American resources. But you must probably defend your natural gas plants with military because it wil be so valuable...
