Look at this chart of the shale gas production... It seems tho be at the end of the logistic curve. I don't think shale gas demand is ready for a constant world production...

If you look at the linked table of natural gas production, you can see that Russia and USA together produces more natural gas than the rest of the world combined. Most of these gas rigs are located in the northern parts (Arctic sea) by the looks of the map below - ie. it would be affected by the growing ice when the ice age starts. According to the table the third and forth largest producers of natural gas is Iran and Qatar (USA hates them and China has a love affair with Iran).
If you're an elite (extremely rich) I think natural gas could be the best and safest future investment. Probably invest in Iran is a good idea since they got the most natural gas if you exclude from the Russian and American resources. But you must probably defend your natural gas plants with military because it wil be so valuable...

@CryptKnight, Yes, the "global warming" bullshit is used to endorse global taxes. The more layers of government they succeed in building, the better the state parasite overlords can suck the life force from the productive. There are 3 types of people - PRODUCERS, PREDATORS, and PARASITES. All of these survival instincts are valid - i.e. the organism survives and multiply. The PRODUCERS biggest weakness is their nativity and vulnerability to self-destructing self criticism of themselves, their family and their race. The predator will steal your money with violence, they have big muscles and hit their children regularly to kill off the goodness. The PARASITES are physically weak but know how to speak and write, and redirects the moral standards for the host group or a whole country to enrich their kinds passively.
