You need to understand whats happening with NXT right now, it was pumped for the airdrop and dumped heavily before those who only got in could do the same. NXT is a proven tried and tested platform, but is not prunable so it is being replaced by ARDR and IGNIS. It doesn't however make NXT worthless, after the ICO fundraiser NXT will receive support for the next 3 years, and any coins created on the platform will also be airdropped to NXT holders. Ditto for IGNIS. Although ARDR and IGNIS will eventually be the successors, in the mean time NXT platform may be more suitable for developers as it has had the stress tests. You may yet see a drop to 25-30c usd and a slow rebound over the next year if they manage to work with a few teams. The product itself works well.
