Is OneMain Holdings value stock undervalued?  Long

OneMain Holdings, Inc.NYSE

Description

"The Graham number is a figure that measures a stock's fundamental value by taking into account the company's earnings per share and book value per share." - Investopedia

I've added the Graham Number indicator to this chart, written by user @Pleadian. The number does not work well for high P/E growth stocks.

However, here is OneMain Holdings. You can see how from 2017 to the end of 2018 it follows the Graham Number closely. However after the 2018 correction, the stock price has diverged from that number.

Their eps YoY growth before this year's pandemic correction, was +67% and +54%.

Currently trading at only at a 8 P/E ratio and paying out a dividend that yields 4.5%, this could be a resilient value stock that just might act like a growth stock for awhile too!

Buy Point: 41.27
Stop Loss: 37.02 (10.29%)
Position Size: R9.72

Comment

This one has acted solidly and has just a little ways to hit the target (the graham number). It also shrugged off Friday's dump of Financial stocks. Relative strength for the week was great with a 10% gain while markets notched lower.

It is not a fancy exciting company like Lemonade, but it also hasn't caused any tears for me either.

@XForceGlobal, comp earnings is going to be off the chart for the first year because post pandemic. But I’d avoid the IPO FOMO and wait for a pull back and then enter at a clear breakout from a base or a new all time high.

I avoided snowflake for too long, should have followed my own advice.
