When I fly Delta back in the day of organized air travel, I was this close to obtaining Platinum status.
Unfortunately, I was only able to achieve stupid Gold status, which is obviously not as good as Platinum.
Obviously.
Why on rare metal Earth is platinum/oz. nearly half the price of gold/oz. if Deltas platinum status is so much rarer to obtain than gold status?
Well, Platinum used to be priced higher than gold until the manic Palladium run began.
Some quick facts: As per the November report, Platinum demand greatly exceeds platinum supply in 2020 due to covid-related mine suspension. What's more, 2021 projections seem to extend this microeconomic imbalance into greater disparity.
This report catalyzed one of the more low-key massive mean reversions back to nearly double the current price. Add in some printing and some overshoot and ya got what parity should look like today against gold.
Long. Use options. Use equity. Go crazy with creativity. It's a metal, so those fib extensions will work no matter the EV of travel you choose to traverse the staircase of status.

I was so excited to reach Alaska MVP Gold status last year....just in time for Covid :). I'm done with gold. Let's go platinum! I have long positions in SLV and GLD, however I cannot buy options for PPLT, PLTM, or PGM. Thoughts? Feedback is greatly appreciated and thank you for the analysis.

@dustinmerryman that is rough timing my man. So I’m actually looking at ways to use options and it seems that other than opening a futures account, you can buy options on the leading platinum miner AGPFF. Probably what I’m gonna do, but will post a better alternative if I find one.

@dustinmerryman, ok, so not only is the ticker wrong (it is AGPPF), but it is also over the counter and not listed on the CBOE, so there are no options on it. Sorry haha.
