PYPL PayPal $2.5K fine for users spreading misinformation Short

PayPal Holdings, Inc.NASDAQ

Description

If you haven`t sold PYPL at $171:

or reentered at $68:

Then you should know that PYPL PayPal has removed the policy that would have fined users 2.5K for spreading misinformation.
PayPal said the issue statement was a mistake and denied this policy.

I think it was a "mistake" that will lead to multiple accounts closing and because of that I just downgraded PYPL to $69.

Looking forward to read your opinion about it.

Get out of this sinking ship asap. When Western World corporations start to censor free speech or attempt a social credit system similar to the CCP in totalitarian China, they're headed to the cellar.

@pugsan, i agree.

PayPal is just mad because they got caught. Now they won't let businesses and consumers cancel their accounts. This company is a fraud and should shut down. Time to short this to 0.00

@DHD269, so disappointing for so long. their fees are high for everything!

It was no mistake. Despite it being taken back I closed my account. They also are starting to report 600+ transactions to the IRS, thanks to that being snuck into the Inflation act. Going to use other means of payment from now on, like cash.

an eBay company. Believe themselves to be the militia of truth? Unacceptable!

Right before elections. I'm sure that memo just appeared out of thin air, and corporate had no knowledge. WOW Remember who PayPal owns Braintree, Venmo, Xoom, and iZettle.

@stockgecko, yeah, a big disappointment.

Not a regular user of their service but do use it periodically. That said, deleted my account yesterday. As others said, this wasn't a mistake, this was something they did that went south so they claimed it was a mistake. It was their intent, it just blew up in their face.
