SPCX / SpaceX: Wait for Structure, Not Hype

SPCX is likely to attract strong retail attention, which means the first sessions may be highly volatile. For me, this is not a “buy at any price” setup, but a name to trade only after the market forms a clear structure.

Base case: I would wait for the first 30–90 minutes of trading to define the initial range. If price holds above the IPO area and starts building consolidation with strong volume, a long setup could appear on a breakout above the local high. The target would be an extension of the initial range. The stop could be placed below the consolidation zone or below VWAP if momentum starts to fade.

Alternative scenario: If the stock opens with a sharp move higher but without volume confirmation, I would wait for a pullback toward VWAP or the first balance area. With an IPO that has this much attention, false breakouts and sharp reversals are very possible.

Bearish scenario: If price breaks and holds below the IPO area, while failing to reclaim VWAP, that may signal early profit-taking. In that case, I would avoid chasing longs and wait for a deeper pullback or a new base to form.

Key levels to watch:
  • IPO area around $135
  • First-hour high and low
  • VWAP
  • First-session high-volume zones

The idea: SPCX could become one of the most volatile IPO stories of the year, but the best risk/reward setup will likely come after the market defines a tradable range. I would wait for confirmation rather than trade the headlines.
