WELL...The market may still go up.. IF it can survive power lines and crow attack. That will not be easy....We will see next week...
The futures gap filled this morning as I expected, so out of curiosity I kept my screen on while half watching my son riding and half sipping my drink. that's when the futures market tumbled straight through the 2900 support in less than a minute. Let's see what happens by tomorrow.
Just took another look at BMA thinking it has maybe recovered since the horrible 50% hair cut... But it has not. In fact it has dropped much deeper. This is what I mean when I ask, do people really think governments can intervene when years of gains can be lost in a single nano second driven single day event. Do North Americans think that we are somehow shielded unlike the Argentinians?
Finally I was thinking that the greater problem is that people are so programmed for false hope now that they do not even want to discuss real problems. The people of HK don't like the leadership? Start undermining them, create false news and fabricate violent events. Then bring in the police and army to blame them and shut them up.
American ranchers and Farmers voice their difficulties and suffering for decades. Just turn a blind eye and pretend life in the city is natural. That's how leaders like Trump come to be. Strong but uncompromising.
Ignore the cries and pleas of the youth. force them to pretend our system and way of life is amazing. Pretend gun ownership for everyone is ok as if we still live in the wild West. Now we have dead kids all over.
Keep up the ignorance and avoidance and we shall see the end result in one unthinkable explosion of rage.

I completely agree. Many Bulls have been mocking the possibility of a devastating mini crash event but I do not think it's wise. When the market really goes down it may not give second chances.

@supere, US and Chinese tariffs went into effect. Hong Kong protests are getting stronger. Shootings, Hurricanes in local US news. Nothing good is happening. It will be interesting to see how the futures open late on Monday. This 3 day weekend could cause low gap open for S&P 500.. S&P 500 is like a huge truck where the driver has been shot, but the truck still goes forward for a while until it falls of a cliff.

@I_AM_FROM_THE_FUTURE, good analog about the truck driver. I think the wider population still believes it is impossible for the market to go down and the governments will always save us. However, I also hear that 80-90% of the market is running on computer controlled auto-pilot these days. I wonder how quickly our governments can respond when all these nano or terra second operating machines switch to sell? Also, I think futures open tonight and again on Monday night...

@supere, Yeah, the central banks are running out of tools. There are already negative bond yields in major economies, and in the US the rate cuts may not be as effective anymore. Why would I wan't to get a loan to buy a real estate for example, if the price of it seems overvalued. It is only good for those who have adjustable rates in real estate or business loans. Negative yields pushed people to move their cash into stock market. If stock market goes down, it may cause misery.

@I_AM_FROM_THE_FUTURE, lol!! Bears will always look stupid until the last moment. Also I have a theory that no big changes ever hold in the futures market. Look back through all of history and there are almost no gaps on the daily chart. Therefore it should be deep red candles in the cash market that people should be concerned about.
