I guess what I'm trying to say is this:
1) expect a spike action soon (can go either way, but lower is more likely);
2) expect a generally long consolidation time.
3) if the spike action is supported by fundamentals, we can get a major momentum shift.

a sustainable up wards momentum required a constant short position to run against or market will drop

@fatboy007, 2400 target on SPX was related to the upcoming corporate tax law adjustments. We'll be hovering in the zone until some new fundamental changes come along. My view is that speculators with their short or long plays don't affect the market long term.
