Nope, the market must first have a BIG suckers rally pushing out ALL shorts before a big drop. It will go the other direction for the next 2-3 weeks then *maybe* it will be permitted to be dropped, but only if everyone is long. All you have to remember is the counterparty will always move against the herd, If everyone is short it will go up, and if everyone is long it will go down, due to the logarithmic return on the derivative options contract.

Not a bad idea. Do you follow the Russell 2000 at all? I'm using 12/28/18 as the floor for support. The next time the market takes a huge dive, I'm shorting puts at 1275 on the Russell 2000. What do you think?
