What are the most memorable moments of 2020?

SPDR S&P 500 ETF TRUSTArca

Description

Reflecting on the year can help you learn, prepare, and plan for the future. It can help you grow as a trader or investor. In the comments below, please share the most memorable market moments you can remember from 2020.

As the holiday spirit begins to fill the air and the year comes to an end, we want to reflect. With your help, we can crowd source the moments that people will look back on either as a lesson to remember or a moment to celebrate. It could be Tesla becoming one of the world's largest companies, Bitcoin crossing $20,000, crude oil dropping to negative $40 per barrel or something unique that you noticed.

All you have to do is write your thoughts in the comments below.

The best breakouts, worst drawdowns, most impactful news stories or events that will shape the future – just write it in the comments. If we get enough submissions, we can create a timeline of the year that can be a resource for others.

In addition, if you published any charts throughout 2020 that you want to share, feel free to link them in the comments. To do this, head to your profile, open one of your published ideas, grab the link, and then paste that link in the comment box. Don't hold back, either. It can be your best trade or your worst trade, a long-term prediction that became true or even a research piece. Feel free to share it!

We look forward to seeing what everyone shares. Let's start to prepare for 2021.

The Nasdaq-100 being up some 43% YTD after a global pandemic is just wild. I don't think anyone saw that coming.

Even though TradingView was always focused on creating a place where traders and investors can interact,
the posts I now see, done on behalf of TradingView, are now, for me, some of the most intelligent, thought-provoking,
relevant and interesting (beyond being merely entertaining) posts I see anywhere on any website.

I was, a few years ago, the French Regional Director for TradingView while living in Spain (I am originally from Canada but also an Italian citizen).
It was during that year, that I really had the opportunity of understanding TradingView better.

Since then, I have matured, as a trader and a person. Especially this year. In more ways than one.
In some way, I can see that TradingView keeps evolving as well.

For me, TradingView is in a class of its own.

There are no other financial companies out there, anywhere in the world,
which have done 1/10th of all the efforts that TradingView keeps making year after year.
I'm grateful for all that you have created... a universe where millions of people can interact and learn and work.

For me, who has been trading the US Oil market for the last 20 years, the moment I will remember for ever is: when US Oil kept going down in a dive, day after day.

As a trader, I love to short.
But that phase felt insane.
I had to hold on to my chair and talk to myself as if I was a 15-year old kid, reminding myself to focus and keep using the same methodology.

I had to make a huge effort so that I could focus and simply trade this ongoing down move, day after day.

It was both the biggest thrill of my life, that incredible drop, and a doomsday feeling, all wrapped up in an other-worldly experience.

I am glad that I then took some time, later, in order to process.
That time off was in Spain, again, this year, from March to May, where I experienced 5 weeks of confinement, in one of the toughest lockdowns, worldwide.
Boy, oh boy what a year.
Happy to be alive and just cherishing each and every day.

Take care.
