looking at the last chart, I completely agree with your analogy. the way it exceeded the upper line and can expect the same degree of violation of the midline [short of or exceeding ]
With the 2016-4-7 high of 269.34 , I was looking at the next layer of highs just under the spike high .
it appears that there would not be enough time to allow that much of a break before the midline came into play.
Just Thinking !!
PS, I really need to spend time learning your technical analyses as I just love it and thanks for sharing .
