Is it over for Tesla?

Tesla, Inc.NASDAQ

Description

Is breaking 6 what is up next for Tesla in the weeks ahead? Will Elon go on a rant about this too? With car companies like Genesis coming out with a pretty slick looking electric car, Range Rover jumping in, Mercedes, Porsche and all the common car companies jumping on board, I just do not see Tesla lasting. The innovator, absolutely, but a car that is pretty much a bench with a tablet screen and steering wheel, will people continue to buy such a stripped down unappealing car? I don't think so with far better names that have dominated the car market for decades stepping up and building much nicer automobiles that have far better name recognition and loyalty I see Tesla being a fad that will be remembered as the innovator but could not last . I see he was tossed from the S&P 500 ESG Index which may just be the start of things for Tesla. He will have his SpaceX still and whatever else he goes on to innovate but will I be a buyer of Tesla even when its under 200? No thanks... 8k tickers out there and Tesla is not on my list. Will I trade it, sure.

Was he actually tossed out from them? OMG! That gives me so much satisfaction! LOL! My issue with TSLA and the reason I am not a TSLA investor is because I don't understand what am I investing in. Elon is all over the place, more so than I am. Like he is doing SpaceX, his internet thing, TSLA car, Solar power and power walls. Its like, is that all under the TSLA umbrella? Is that what I am investing in? And then he gets TSLA to invest in millions of bitcoin which, as we all know, has turned into a HUGE financial drain on the company. Like, he's a smart man but he needs to focus and be more organized. Put down twitter and his crypto and spewing his opinions about everything and focus on running a multibillion dollar industry. Its honestly a toss up between Elon and Trump on who is the Twitter king of instigation pointless drama that causes serious real world repercussions (Elon moves the Crypto market and TSLA stock faster than any hedge fund could). Disaster.
Oh and you make good points, too. Ford revolutionized the automotive industry. If it wasn't for Henry Ford, we wouldn't have modern day car manufacturing, assembly and affordable vehicles. Yet ford stock doesn't hold a candle to the impact the company actually has had on the modern industry. I assume TSLA will be like Ford one day. A revolutionary company forgotten.
In fact, I see a lot of parallels between Elon and Henry Ford. Henry ford was very controversial, kind of socialisty and spewing his opinions about things that didn't matter or concern him. HAHAHA

@Steversteves, He was and went on a rant about it apparently. I have to laugh. I had respect for him in his early days (paypal) and thought how cool, he slaved and grinded it but what I see of him now.... well, lets just say I share a similar view as you on him.

What would you do I you were the world's wealthiest person? He already won the game of life now he just doing what he likes. I doubt he cares if he is worth 300B or 10B he doesn't have time to spend it.

@ehaag100, I would be doing exactly what I am doing now, living in the middle of nowhere in my house in the woods, away from people, commenting on things I want and not getting involved in anything directly hahaha.
You make a good point, but the problem is he knows he's a s*t disturber and causes dramas intentionally. I have to admit, I do admire it and love his instigation ways because its so ostentatious and I am here for it. I just think that he should focus his efforts on his companies that he still is the CEO of, otherwise hand over the responsibility and then do whatever you want.

@Steversteves You definitely make a good point that he has more than he can handle. He builds tunnels, cars, rockets and flamethrowers... He's a smart huy, but a kid lol. But yeah I would never buy into tesla, i don't understand how people see that much value in it. But I don't begrudge Elon for the lack of value, he said the stock is over priced several times and people still buy it.

You miss several important factors here: for instance, look at the auto industrie’s overall ICE market compared to EV market. Zoom in on the leads in both markets. Now compare the leads in both markets and look at their free cash flow and Net debt…. Tesla will survive the next 10 years. Others won’t survive the next 3. To say that the competition is coming for Tesla is a basic and hollow statement (of course competition will come) but it is 8-10 years behind. Tesla is multiple companies within 1. First we have the hardware of the car which at this stage is clearly ahead in production than any other EV car manufacturer. No leather interior or nice looking steering wheel can replace the battery technology of Tesla nor how the body parts are being produced. Next up: the AI software. The other companies are sleeping and nope sorry to break it to you, they are not waking up. Tesla has the most advanced AI capabilities - don’t believe me? Take a look at all other automakers so called “self driving” tests and compare them to Tesla’s. Next up: solar roof (which has been increasing in adaption) or Mercedes offers those? Wait those Ford? No? GM maybe? Damn… what about Range Rover? Oh… well they are sleeping again. Next up: Tesla insurance. Next up: fully self driving Semi trucks. Next up: Optimus. Next up Optimus working for you. Bringing out food for companies. All delivery services are disrupted. Moving companies disrupted. Construction work disrupted. Yeah… Tesla is going to the moon. Swim against the future - it always works right?
