USDCAD - H1 - Don't you love this harmonic currency?

U.S. Dollar/Canadian DollarFXCM

Description

That's absolutely beautiful - Cypher, Bat and Gartley - all back to back :) I am trying to catch Cypher - but if there is no pull back to D point, a will not catch the train...
Anyway - very beautiful!

Hi!
None of them I hit.... It's a pity. Hunted. But not successful :)
Re Gartley - I do not believe it's not valid. I am using BC fibo retracement as well as AB fibo ext - I know most traders used to check AB whilst I believe more in BC....

That's too bad. Cause it looked like you would've made some serious pips on those patterns. Next time...

As for the Gartley, I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "most traders used to check AB whilst I believe more in BC". I don't know who :most traders" are but there is not a choice in how to check the fib ratios on the pattern points. But the reason I was saying that's not a valid Gartley is because the B point closed way above the .618 retrace of the XA leg. Which makes it a crab. Not a Gartley. Gartley should not have a B point close above the .618. Yes, It can exceed the .618 but not close above. But again, that's Scott Carney's rule. Since he is the one who set the fib rules on Gartley's, that's who I go by. I don't arbitrarily change his rules to suit myself. I go strictly by his rules. I do know others have advanced upon his original rules and use different fib ratios and claim to have tested them with good results and came up with variations on the original patterns like anti-bats, anti-cyphers, black swans, etc., etc. But I tend to stick with the tried and true. Anyway, good luck to you and hope you will catch the next good pattern!

Before I say anything, IF you caught that decline down, then good for you! Great catch! And I sincerely hope you did! No BS! BUT having said that, that "Gartley" you are showing is not a Gartley according to the Gartley pattern rules. Now if you are making up your own rules for a Gartley, then as I said, maybe it worked out good for you. And I hope it did! But would've been nice if you posted your trade BEFORE it happened so the rest of us could've at least had a chance to see it as well! But again, congrats to you if you caught that trade off "your" Gartley. Not hating at all, bro. Just saying is all....
