USDCAD: Potential Bearish Gartley Pattern

FX:USDCAD   U.S. Dollar/Canadian Dollar
Looking for a potential bearish gartley pattern on the USDCAD             hourly chart. This is one of the only higher timeframe setups on my radar for today as the rest of my portfolio seems to be nose diving (especially those Yen pairs). I would assume that like yesterday we may have to spend some extended time on the range bars charts in order to see if we can hop on the trend like we did with the EURJPY             yesterday. We shall see, the markets are always known to surprise us.

Thank you Akil, this would also tie in quite nicely with the 'C' point of a Cypher I've been watching:

Ignore the large Fib retrace - too long spent looking at Bats! Man it would be good if you could delete/edit comments on here!

Yeah i do wish they had that option, but I understand why. there would probably be a lot of frauds out there trying to change and trick traders

Nice one with great risk reward ratio. Had completely missed that one (RAS not as sharp on BAT and Gartley as it is on Cypher yet :) )

I was just thinking Akil, why dont you trade Shark Patterns? They have a much better Risk/Reward and are also a higher probability pattern? For example on this chart you would have a Shark Pattern completion at the retest of the X leg / B leg of the Gartley, and as you can see you had a sharp sell off right at that level. This is not criticism, i am simply wondering why you trade Cypher patterns instead of Shark Patterns.

Something that has always bothered me about the shark pattern is the fact that the final completion can be either below or beyond the starting leg. Seeing how structure is a major part of my trading philosophy the pattern has never sat well with me. I'm sure that those who have tested it have found a consistent way to trade it where they use a more specific completion point instead of the range, I've just never done so.

These indicators look like the standard ATR & RSI that TradingView offers. You can customize how they look indicator under the style settings. Set RSI to “Line” and ATR to “Area” and it should achieve the same effect.

Hope this helps.

100% Correct, thanks. Nothing special at all just visually appealing to me

The ATR is just set to "Area" instead of a normal line
