How do you choose the time frame to base your patterns on? Does the time frame influence where you place your target and how patient you will be with a trade?

i usually trade 4 hours chart as i look at the weekly support and resistance. when price reaches D i look for key areas and if the price action gives me confirmation, i take the trade. for this pattern the gartley was not complete. AB=CD rule was not met. as the price was at support and jumped in and got my fingers burned. didnot looked for reversal.

pattern failed. from now on i will not trade every pattern . will wait for confirmation even if it gives me few pips.
